Meatballs are always a tasty meal using mince. Cheap, Simple to Make and Hearty.
Serves 6
You Will Need
500g Mince
2 Slices Bread, made into bread crumbs
1 Clove Garlic, crushed
1 Tablespoon Tomato Sauce
1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 Tins Diced Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon Fresh Basil, finely chopped
Method
Mix in a large bowl, the mince, onion, breadcrumbs, sauces and egg.
Using clean hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly and shape into small golf sized meatballs.
Add some olive oil to a frying pan and bring to high heat.
Add meatballs to the pan and turn until brown all over
Turn the heat down and add the tomatoes and basil. Turn meatballs until coated in mixture.
Put a lid on the frying pan and simmer for approximately 20 minutes. Turn meatballs occasionally.
Bec Tips
The sauce really doesn't need anything else the juices from the meatballs really do flavour the whole dish.
This is a great meal that can be pre made using fresh mince make the meatballs and store in the freezer. You could also make them in the morning and store in the fridge to let the herbs improve the flavour.
Serve with long spaghetti and a generous grating of parmasen.
Don't want to make your own breadcrumbs (I don't blame you) just use the packet stuff I don't measure but maybe a bit over half a cup.
