I wanted to write a little about Bigcommerce Websites. When I started by business I searched and searched the internet to find a way to have my own website to sell my products. I had no real knowledge as to what to look for so I guess what I went with was what looked aesthetically pleasing and was cheap and by cheap I'm talking FREE! yeah I wanted it for nothing - that is never the case and nothing ever comes free so I had to dish out some dosh and paid for my eCommerce store. Well it was a massive FAIL! I never got traffic, I didn't rank for any keywords. I made $0 using this host and I have witnessed so many people fall into the same trap. I'm not going to go into the Host Name, since my time there I have seen a lot of improvements and I do still believe they are a great tool for someone learning to get into the online game of selling.

Anyway, I decided to cut my losses and start searching elsewhere and Bigcommerce is what I stumbled across. I had seen them before but the whole monthly fee thing but I decided to sign up for the 15 day Free Trial and ended up closing the account. I felt I didn't have too much control over the look and feel of the site as I was used to my previous host which offered a click and drag template option so I had the freedom to make it pretty and change everything about it. I have learned a valuable lesson from that mindset and that is 'pretty' doesn't get you listed on google therefor 'pretty' doesn't get you sales. Go Figure.

So after some more research, reading blogs and forums etc (I was very skeptical of everything at this stage, I just didn't want to get burnt again) At the end of it all BigCommerce was the one that stuck in my mind so I decided to bit the bullet and do another 15 Day Trial and well I haven't looked back.

Bigcommerce gives you all the features you need to run a successful online store. Their learning material, tutorials are amazing. You can't go wrong! Their Live Chat has to be one of the greatest points. I never have to email and get a one sentence reply a day or two later. They are there LIVE to answer my questions and give me instructions on the spot and they are actually helping to resolve the issue and by the time you have finished your issue is resolved. Never have they been too technical to understand.

Now the price. All of their amazing tools, a website, support starting at $24.95 a month after your 15 day free trial and with my business being one of the most competitive niches of children's clothing I have not once not been able to cover my costs and I am on the silver plan.

The best thing from an SEO point of view they are fantastic. Bigcommerce sites are Google Friendly. Most Website Companies will tell you the same thing but from my experience they really are Google Friendly.
